If you find yourself wandering through the enchanting landscape of Soppong in the Pang Mapha District, make sure to take a delightful detour to the Flying Turtle Cafe. Nestled at 137 Wanaluang, this charming cafe is not just a pit-stop; it's an experience that tantalizes your taste buds and soothes your soul.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that promises a peaceful respite from your adventures, especially if you're heading to the nearby Lod Cave. The owners, a friendly Englishman and his Thai partner, create a welcoming environment that makes every visitor feel at home. Let the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wrap around you like a comforting blanket as you settle in.

The cafe’s menu is a culinary treasure chest, especially if you’re after a wholesome breakfast. Try the toasted bagel with ham and cheese (THB 80.00) for a savory start or indulge in the grilled cheese sandwich made with homemade wholewheat bread (THB 70.00), which pairs beautifully with a cup of their outstanding locally roasted coffee. Each bite offers a satisfying crunch followed by a melty warmth that will leave you craving more.

If you prefer something light and refreshing, opt for the granola and yogurt with in-season fruit (THB 70.00), sourced directly from their organic farm, ensuring every spoonful bursts with freshness. And don’t miss out on their kombucha (THB 50.00)—a bubbly, tangy treat that’s as good for your gut as it is for your spirit. With flavors like honey and fruit, there's something for every palate. For those with a sweet tooth, the shakes—which include tantalizing options like pineapple and passionfruit—are a must-try (THB 50.00)!

But it’s the customer experiences that truly encapsulate the essence of Flying Turtle Cafe. Reviews from satisfied patrons paint a picture of a joyful sanctuary. Robin Maarten encapsulates the vibe perfectly, noting it as a “peaceful place” ideal for a break, complete with “fresh homemade sandwiches and good coffee.” Meanwhile, Maria Dolbin raves about the “freshest coffee in your life,” a true testament to the owners’ commitment to quality, with beans sourced from local villages and roasted right on-site. You can choose from five different roasts, each offering its unique flavor profile that will have you savoring every sip.

As you enjoy your meal, take a moment to appreciate the café's cleanliness and laid-back charm, which are just as captivating as the food itself. It’s a place to not only recharge but also to engage in genuine conversations with the owners, who are known for their warm hospitality and extensive knowledge about the local area.

So, whether you're a traveler seeking a tranquil stop or a coffee enthusiast in search of the finest brews, Flying Turtle Cafe is an unmissable gem. Make this charming spot part of your journey and experience the warmth, flavors, and community spirit that define this remarkable cafe.

Do not miss this little coffee spot! Coffee beans from local villages around and then locally roasted by Ken. You can choose from 5 different roasts and will receive the freshest coffee in your life. We were hungry so we also had delicious grilled sandwiches from super crispy bread. Ken and Busaba thank you very much for good coffee and great conversation!

What a lovely place to drink a good coffee. Honest coffee with a great taste. The owners are very welcoming and we learned a lot about the process of making a good coffee. They support the poor villagers in the surrounding mountains. We loved their medium dark coffee

You can get really good coffee here. It‘s local and they do a really good roast. The owner can tell you a lot about the local coffee business. And they have free wifi.
